Our work
From the first SENCO conversation to the tribunal door — here is what we do, day in, day out.
Naomi — You Are Not Alone is a grassroots SEND advocacy service. Everything we do is free, confidential, and built around one goal: Black children with special educational needs and disabilities getting the support they are entitled to.
Here is what that looks like in practice.
We sit beside you — in person or on the phone — for SENCO meetings, annual reviews, exclusion hearings and appeals. We help you prepare, we take notes, and we make sure your voice is heard.
EHC needs assessment requests, review responses, appeal forms, complaint letters. We draft them with you, in plain English, so nothing gets lost in jargon.
When a child's needs are being read as defiance, we help you put that on the record — calmly, clearly, and in a way schools have to respond to.
Free downloadable guides on EHC needs assessments, school meetings, exclusion appeals and EHCP reviews — written for parents, not lawyers.
Through the blog and our resources, we share what works: real advocacy tips, the law in plain language, and the lessons families have taught us.
Free, confidential, no waiting list. We answer every message.
